London context

Boiler installation in London: what makes it different.

Mains gas pressure variability. Inner-London gas pressure is generally good but varies, some Edwardian terraces still have ¾ inch black-iron supply with reduced flow, restricting boiler choice. We measure flow rate before specifying.

Mains water pressure for combi boilers. A combi needs reasonable mains water pressure (1.5+ bar at peak) for full DHW output. Many central London mansion blocks have shared risers with poor peak-time pressure. In these cases we'll specify a system boiler with cylinder rather than combi.

Hard water and scale management. London water hardness destroys combi plate heat exchangers within 5–7 years if untreated. We always specify Sentinel X100 inhibitor + magnetic filter + (in hard-water postcodes) in-line scale reducer or full water softener.

Flue routing in conservation areas. Some conservation areas restrict visible flue terminations on principal elevations. We coordinate flue routing with conservation requirements where applicable.

How fast can a boiler installer reach me?
Typical response across the M25 is 30 to 60 minutes, often faster in inner London, subject to engineer availability and traffic. Live dispatch, never queued. Times quoted are best-effort targets, not contractual guarantees.
How does boiler installation pricing work?
Labour is one flat rate across London and the M25, billed per 30 minutes: from £75 / 30 min (daytime) up to £147 / 30 min (nighttime), with a one-hour minimum then 30-minute increments. There is no callout fee. Domestic prices shown inc VAT, no hidden extras (no parking, fuel, ULEZ or Congestion Charge surcharges). The engineer converts to a fixed-price quote on site after diagnosis where the scope is clear. Materials at trade cost plus 30%, itemised on the invoice. Full rate card.
Do you charge to come out and look?
There is no callout fee, ever. For pre-planned bookings the one-hour minimum labour charge starts when the engineer begins on-site work. For 24/7 emergencies you pay only for the labour at the rate for the time of day, plus any materials. Non-emergency reschedules are free with at least 24 hours' notice.
Are you Gas Safe registered?

Do you guarantee the work?
Every job carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee. If something fails inside 12 months for the same fault, we come back at no charge.
