Our commitment

At 247 Rapid Response, we are committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion across our workforce and eliminating all forms of unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to ensure our team truly reflects the diverse communities we serve, and to foster a working environment where every individual feels respected, valued, and able to give their best.

We are equally committed to ensuring that no customer, contractor, or member of the public experiences discrimination in any interaction with our services. Whether we are providing urgent call-outs, installations, or specialist engineering support, we uphold the highest standards of fairness and respect.

Purpose of this policy

This policy aims to:

  1. Ensure equality, fairness and respect for everyone working with us, whether employed on a permanent, part-time, temporary or contract basis.
  2. Prevent unlawful discrimination in line with the Equality Act 2010 across the protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
  3. Oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination in areas including pay and benefits, terms and conditions of employment, dealing with grievances and disciplinary matters, dismissal and redundancy, parental leave and flexible working requests, and selection for recruitment, training, promotion or development opportunities.

Our commitments

We commit to:

  1. Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion as best business practice that strengthens our company culture and service delivery.
  2. Creating a workplace free from bullying, harassment, victimisation and discrimination, where differences are respected and the contributions of all individuals are valued. All managers and staff will be trained on their responsibilities under this policy. Everyone at 247 Rapid Response is expected to act in a way that supports equal opportunities and avoids any form of discriminatory behaviour. Staff should understand that both they and the Company can be held legally responsible for acts of discrimination or harassment during the course of their work, whether directed at colleagues, clients, contractors or members of the public.
  3. Handling all complaints of bullying, harassment, victimisation or unlawful discrimination seriously. Any such behaviour will be treated as misconduct under our disciplinary policy. Serious breaches may be considered gross misconduct and result in dismissal without notice. In some cases, harassment may constitute a criminal offence under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 or the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
  4. Providing fair and open access to training and career development for all staff. We aim to help individuals reach their full potential, enabling us to make the most of the skills and experience available across the organisation.
  5. Making employment decisions based solely on merit, except where exemptions under the Equality Act apply.
  6. Reviewing our practices and policies regularly to ensure continued fairness and legal compliance.
  7. Monitoring the diversity of our workforce and how effectively our policy is working in practice. We will collect and review anonymised data on characteristics such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion and sexual orientation. We will use this data to inform and improve our practices, review the policy annually, and take action where needed.

Agreement and procedures

This Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy is fully supported by our senior management team and has been shared with all employees. Any updates will be communicated accordingly.

You can find full details of our disciplinary and grievance procedures in the Employee Handbook or by requesting a copy from your line manager or HR lead. Normally, any grievance should be raised with your line manager in the first instance.

Raising a grievance under these procedures does not affect your right to make a claim to an employment tribunal within three months of the alleged act of discrimination.
