Beyond the M25

Out-of-area services we’ll travel for.

We’re a London team and our 30 to 90 minute response window stops at the M25-adjacent ring. For certain work types though, the journey is worth it for both sides: a single boiler swap, a multi-day system replacement, a specialist drain reline, a leak-detection survey on a country house. Day rate plus mileage, free phone scope-out first, written quote before anyone gets in the van.

What we will travel for

Boiler installation projects

Single-day like-for-like swaps and multi-day system replacements. Worcester, Vaillant, Ideal, Viessmann and Baxi, with smart controls and BS 7593 inhibitor dosing on every fill.

Day rate + mileage, free phone scope-out first.

Heating system replacement

Full strip-out and re-pipe, new boiler, new radiators, new controls. Typically two to five days on site, scheduled in a single block so we’re not back and forth.

Fixed written quote after a free site survey.

Drain relining (CIPP)

No-dig repair of cracked or collapsed drains using cured-in-place liners. Specialist kit, specialist resin, multi-day works where a local jetting firm has already run out of road.

Quoted per metre after a CCTV survey.

Leak detection surveys

Thermal imaging, acoustic listening and tracer-gas trace-and-access on insurance claims, unexplained water bills or pre-purchase concerns. We bring the kit; you get a written report on the same visit.

Day rate + mileage, single-visit turnaround.

Pre-purchase plumbing surveys

High-value buyers commissioning a plumbing, heating and drainage survey before exchange. Anywhere in England and Wales by arrangement. RICS-format report turned around within five working days.

Fixed price per property, quoted on enquiry.

CP12 and LGSR for account portfolios

Existing account clients whose portfolios stretch beyond the M25 belt. We absorb the cross-region properties into the same monthly compliance cycle as the London stock.

Account rate, single monthly invoice, mileage at cost.

Insurance restoration projects

Escape-of-water reinstatement, post-leak drying, replumb and make-good where the policy is already with us or where the loss adjuster has named us on the schedule of works.

Billed direct to insurer where the policy supports it.

How out-of-area pricing works

  • Free phone scope-out first.A 10 to 15 minute call with one of our engineers to confirm the job is the right shape for us before we put a van on the motorway. If it’s not, we’ll say so and point you somewhere better.
  • Day rate, fixed irrespective of zone. £550 per engineer per day for out-of-area work, plus materials at trade cost plus 30%. No evening or weekend premium for planned out-of-area jobs.
  • Mileage beyond the M25 perimeter at £0.45 per mile each way (HMRC AMAP, first 10,000 miles), measured from the nearest M25 junction to the postcode. Itemised on the invoice, no rounding up.
  • Written quote before any visit.Day count, mileage, materials and a fixed total in writing. No surprises on site, no “while we’re here” upsells, no day-two scope creep.

What we won’t travel for

We’d rather be straight about this. Outside London and the M25-adjacent ring, we don’t take on:

  • Routine reactive callouts: burst pipes, blocked toilets, no-heat, leaking taps. The travel time alone kills the economics for both sides, and a local engineer will be with you faster.
  • Single-hour repairs. If the job is under a day on site, the mileage swamps the labour and you’ll feel it on the invoice. Find a local trade.
  • Out-of-hours emergencies outside our response footprint. We can’t target a 60-minute arrival in Norwich at 2am from a north-west London depot. Anyone who says they can is lying or sub-contracting.

For local reactive work, the Gas Safe Register find-an-engineer tool and the CIPHE find-a-plumber directory are the right places to start.

Out-of-area enquiry

Get a written quote.

Tell us the property, the postcode, the scope and the timeline. We’ll come back within one working day with a yes or no, and where it’s a yes, a fixed written price including mileage. No deposit, no pressure, no engineer in the van until you’ve signed off.

Response promise

What “coverage” actually means.

  • Directly-employed engineers dispatched from the nearest depot, not from a single central London base.
  • Live dispatch, not a queue. The phone connects to the same dispatch desk every hour of every day.
  • Borough-specific knowledge: water authority quirks, property-stock patterns, conservation-area rules, mansion-block protocols.
  • Same hourly rate-card across every London postcode. The rate depends on time of day, not where you are.
  • 12-month workmanship guarantee on every job, anywhere in our coverage.
