Most central heating installations done badly start with a quote-by-postcode boiler swap. Most done well start with a heat-loss calculation. We do heat-loss calculations.

For a meaningful upgrade, adding a second bathroom, converting a loft, replacing 1970s pipework, going from heat-only to combi, the right answer isn't 'what fits in the cupboard' but 'what does the property actually need'. We measure the heat-loss across every room, calculate flow requirements, verify mains-water pressure, and only then specify the system.

How much does a full central heating installation cost?
Every central heating installation is priced after a free on-site consultation and a written fixed-price quote, with no obligation. The cost depends on the system specified after the heat-loss survey, whether it's a boiler-only swap, a combi-to-system upgrade with a new cylinder, a full new system, or a multi-zone evohome install. Materials are charged at trade cost + 30%, itemised, with no hidden extras.
How long does a full central heating installation take?
Boiler swap: 1,2 days. Combi upgrade with cylinder change: 3,4 days. Full new system (strip-out, repipe, new radiators, new boiler): 5,10 working days. We agree the schedule before starting.
Should I get a combi or a system boiler?
Depends on your property. 1 bathroom + good mains pressure: combi. 2+ bathrooms or low pressure or large family: system boiler with cylinder. Existing tank in airing cupboard you want to keep: stay with system. We'll measure and recommend on the survey.
Do I need new radiators?
Often, no, existing radiators are usually fine if matched to the new boiler's flow temperature (modern condensing boilers benefit from larger radiators running cooler). We assess each radiator on the survey.
What manufacturer warranty options are available?
Through our accredited installer status: Worcester Bosch: up to 12 years on Greenstar 4000/8000. Vaillant: up to 10 years on ecoTEC plus. Viessmann: 10 years on Vitodens. Ideal: up to 12 years on Logic Max. All require annual servicing to maintain validity.
