Immersion heater repair and replacement across London
No hot water from the immersion heater but the central heating still works, or the element keeps tripping your fuse box: our Gas Safe registered engineers cover London and the M25, typically reaching emergencies in 30 to 60 minutes to test the element and thermostat, then repair or replace the immersion same day.
When the immersion heater in your hot water cylinder fails, you lose hot water but not heating. We diagnose, replace and re-commission the element same-day on most call-outs.
What we do for immersion heaters
Both vented and unvented cylinder immersion elements: failed thermostat, blown element, scaled-up heating coil, tripped overheat cut-out. Like-for-like swap with a Megaflo, Heatrae Sadia, or generic 11" or 14" Incoloy element depending on cylinder type. Power-isolated test before leaving site.
Common immersion faults
No hot water from the immersion only
Element failed open-circuit. Multimeter test confirms in minutes.
Trips the consumer unit immediately
Element has gone to earth. Replace the element; the RCD has done its job.
Hot water lukewarm only
Thermostat is set low or has failed. Often a five-minute fix.
Cylinder gurgling or banging
Heavy scale on the element. Replacement element plus descaling tablets in the cylinder.
What it costs (indicative)
Most immersion swaps complete inside the one-hour minimum labour charge plus the element at trade cost + 30%, itemised. Labour runs from £75 / 30 min (daytime) up to £147 / 30 min (nighttime) (see /pricing). Full pricing.
