Drainage in South Bucks.

The very hard chalk-aquifer supply delivered by Affinity Water to SL0, SL7, SL8 and HP9 accelerates limescale build-up inside clay and cast-iron drainage runs, narrowing bore over decades until a single grease blockage becomes a full stoppage. In Beaconsfield Old Town and Gerrards Cross, many properties retain original vitrified-clay lateral drains laid in the 1920s and 1930s; root intrusion through spigot joints is a recurring fault mode we address on almost every survey in those areas. On the Iver and Burnham estates, PVCu drainage installed from the 1960s onwards has aged better, but poor original falls and kinked inspection chambers are common where extensions were added without drainage redesign.

Every survey opens with a CCTV camera survey to locate and classify defects before any intervention. Confirmed blockages are cleared by high-pressure water jetting. Where structural deterioration is present, no-dig CIPP relining is the preferred repair – avoiding excavation through mature gardens and hard-landscaped driveways that are typical of South Bucks properties.
