Private drainage infrastructure is the defining challenge in East Hampshire. Across GU30, GU31, GU32, GU33, GU34, GU35, and GU36, a substantial proportion of properties – particularly in the villages around Selborne and the rural stretches between Liphook and Bordon – are served by cesspits or septic tanks rather than a mains sewer. When these systems begin to fail, the failure modes differ markedly from urban drainage: tank ingress, broken distribution arms, collapsed soakaway crust, and root intrusion into clay-jointed laterals running across open ground.

Our approach begins with a CCTV survey to establish exactly what system is in place and where any defect sits. High-pressure jetting clears grease and silt that would otherwise mask the camera picture. Where a run has cracked or deformed – common in the older clay-pipe laterals found beneath Alton's Victorian terraces and Petersfield's period stock – no-dig CIPP relining restores structural integrity without opening the garden.
