Drainage in Cherwell.

The drainage picture in Cherwell splits clearly along property age. Banbury's Victorian terraces – concentrated around OX15 and OX16 – commonly run on original vitrified clay pipework laid in shallow bedding, which is susceptible to root ingress from mature street trees and to joint displacement after decades of ground movement. These are the runs most likely to present with partial or total collapse on a CCTV survey. The Bicester new-build estates on OX25 and OX26 use PVCu drainage, but rapid site development has produced connections with poorly bedded junctions and, in some cases, incorrect fall angles that cause self-siphonage and recurring slow drainage despite clear pipe interiors.

High-pressure jetting clears blockages and grease accumulation; where the pipe wall is compromised, no-dig CIPP lining avoids excavation through finished driveways and gardens.
