Thames Water's chalk-aquifer supply to West Oxfordshire runs at 270 to 320 ppm CaCO3, and that sustained hardness steadily narrows the bore of older copper supply pipes in Witney terraces and Woodstock period properties. When a leak develops inside a wall, under a stone-flagged floor or beneath a Cotswolds AONB garden, finding it without unnecessary disruption matters enormously – both for the building fabric and for planning compliance.

Our process uses three complementary methods. Thermal imaging surveys temperature differentials across walls, floors and ceilings, flagging moisture ingress before it becomes visible. Acoustic correlation then pinpoints the leak to within centimetres along a pressurised supply line, without lifting a single flag or core-drilling a wall. Where supply and return paths make acoustic work inconclusive – particularly on rural OX18 and OX7 properties with long underground feeds to outbuildings – we introduce tracer gas, which migrates to the surface at the precise failure point.
