Leak detection in Waverley

Hard water at 270 to 310 ppm CaCO3 – the level South East Water delivers throughout Waverley – deposits calcium scale steadily on the inner walls of supply pipes. Over years that scale can mask pinhole corrosion until the pipe fails in a location that is genuinely difficult to pinpoint, particularly in the older Farnham and Godalming properties where supply runs pass through thick stone or brick construction. All three can be applied to both mains-connected and private-supply systems, which matters in a borough where off-mains infrastructure is common.
