Drainage in Buckinghamshire (north).

Scale accumulation from Affinity Water's chalk-aquifer supply – consistently 280 to 320 ppm CaCO3 across the HP and MK postcodes – is the single most common cause of partial blockages in northern Buckinghamshire. Over years it narrows the bore of clay and early PVCu runs alike, particularly in the older Victorian and Edwardian terraces found in central High Wycombe and Chesham town centres. In Aylesbury's post-war estates the more common failure mode is root ingress into the original 100mm clay laterals laid in the 1950s and 1960s.

Every drainage investigation begins with a push-rod or crawler CCTV survey, which gives us a recorded image of the full run before we touch anything. High-pressure water jetting clears grease, scale and soft blockages without excavation. Where the pipe wall itself is compromised – cracked, displaced or root-fractured – no-dig CIPP resin relining restores structural integrity from inside the existing barrel. On rural properties near the Chiltern Hills AONB boundary, where trench routing must respect AONB planning constraints, relining is often the only compliant solution.
