Wealden drainage and leak detection.

Wealden is our most rural South East district, and its drainage works nothing like a town's. Across Crowborough, Uckfield, Heathfield and Hailsham – and the scattered properties around Ashdown Forest and the northern South Downs – a large share of homes drain to a septic tank, cesspool or soakaway rather than a mains sewer. That changes the whole job: there is no water-company run to hand the problem to, so the survey, the diagnosis and the fix all sit with the property.

Roots are the recurring enemy

Mature oak and ash drive the single most common callout we see here. Their roots find the smallest joint defect in an old clay run, then thicken until the drain blocks or collapses. We map the run on CCTV, cut the intrusion back with the right Picote head, and where the pipe is failing we line it so the roots can't return through the same joint. On soakaway and septic systems we also check that the problem isn't simply a saturated drainage field, which needs a different remedy entirely.

These are planned visits booked one to two working days ahead, on site between 9am and 5pm – scheduled project work, not emergency cover. Drainage brings jetting, CCTV and relining; leak detection brings thermal, acoustic and tracer-gas methods with a written report. The quote is fixed once we've surveyed, and there's no callout fee.
