Drainage in Basingstoke and Deane.

Basingstoke and Deane's property stock divides cleanly into two drainage generations. The post-war planned estates across RG21, RG22 and RG23 were built rapidly in the 1950s through 1970s, and the vitrified-clay drain runs installed then are now reaching the age where root ingress, displaced collars and mid-run sags are routine findings. Out in Whitchurch, Overton and the villages of RG25, RG28 and RG29, many properties never connected to mains drainage at all and rely on soakaways or private runs whose condition is often unknown to current owners. Add the AONB designation across parts of the downland, which can restrict conventional open-cut excavation for external drainage, and the case for no-dig repair techniques becomes compelling.

Every drainage job begins with a CCTV camera survey to establish the actual condition of the run before any other work is committed to. Where blockages are confirmed, high-pressure water jetting clears the line and a post-clean camera pass verifies the result. Structurally compromised runs – cracked clay, deformed PVCu, displaced joints – are assessed for CIPP resin relining, which restores bore and structural integrity without open ground.
