Deal seafront properties and the exposed cliff-top stock around St Margaret's at Cliffe share a common vulnerability: salt-laden air accelerates micro-corrosion on copper supply pipework and push-fit fittings, producing pinhole leaks that lose water slowly and silently inside masonry walls for months before any staining appears. The chalk-aquifer supply from South East Water and Southern Water – running at 280 to 330 ppm CaCO3 – deposits scale that conceals early-stage joint failures and complicates visual inspection.

Our leak-detection surveys for CT15, CT16 and CT17 use thermal imaging cameras to identify temperature differentials behind walls and floors, acoustic correlators to pinpoint the exact metre of pipe carrying a pressurised leak, and tracer gas injection for complex runs where acoustic signal is absorbed by surrounding ground. All three methods are non-destructive: no drilling or lifting before the leak is located.
