The chalk-aquifer water supplied by Affinity Water to Runnymede properties deposits scale that hardens within clay and concrete drainage joints, causing them to crack rather than flex as ground conditions shift. On the older Chertsey and Addlestone streets this means root ingress into failed spigot-and-socket clay pipework is a routine finding; on the larger Wentworth Estate plots the picture is different – extended private drainage runs with multiple changes of direction that were never surveyed at the time of construction.

Every drainage job begins with a full CCTV survey: a camera is pushed through the line and the footage is logged with defect codes, providing an accurate record before any work starts. Partial or full blockages are cleared with high-pressure water jetting. Where structural defects are confirmed, no-dig CIPP relining is the first-choice remedy – particularly useful on the Wentworth Estate where excavating landscaped grounds is disruptive and expensive.
