FAQ

Insurance claim handling: your questions.

Will my insurer accept your survey report?
Yes. Our written leak-detection and damp-survey reports have been accepted on first submission by every major UK insurer (LV, Aviva, Direct Line, Admiral, Hiscox, Zurich, AXA, RSA, NIG, Allianz, Ageas, Legal & General). Reports include thermal imagery, leak-rate estimates, dimensional sketches, photographic evidence with timestamps and a recommended-repair scope, formatted to claims-handler expectations.
Do I pay anything out of pocket on a covered claim?
No. Where your insurer accepts the claim, we bill the insurer direct for the survey, trace-and-access work, and full reinstatement. You pay your policy excess and nothing else. We let you know up front if any work falls outside the policy so you can decide.
What does 'trace and access' cover actually pay for?
Trace and access cover (a standard inclusion on most UK home insurance policies, typically £2,500 to £10,000) pays for the minimally-invasive 'cut, find, fix' work needed to locate a hidden leak: surveying, opening up the wall, ceiling or floor, repairing the leak, and reinstating the cut you made. It does not cover the underlying damage from the leak (that sits under escape-of-water cover).
How fast can you turn around a survey for a claim?
Across all London zones, same-day or next-day on-site surveys are usual. Outside London, scheduled within 1 to 2 working days. The written report follows within 2 working days of the visit. Where the insurer needs a re-inspection mid-claim, we attend same-day.
Do you handle restoration after the leak is fixed?
Yes. We run drying, dehumidification, structural repairs, redecoration, flooring and joinery as the reinstatement scope on covered claims. The full restoration is included where the policy covers it; we don't subcontract to a separate restoration firm.
