Crawley is unusual among the places we cover because so much of it was built at once. As a post-war New Town, its RH10 and RH11 neighbourhoods – Three Bridges, Pound Hill, Bewbush and the rest – went up between roughly 1950 and 1965 with uniform drainage of the period. That uniformity is useful: once we have surveyed a few runs in a given neighbourhood, we know what the rest are likely to be made of and how they tend to fail.

The standard fix across that older New Town stock is relining. Sixty-year-old runs reach the point where joints open and the bore roughens, and a cured-in-place liner restores them without lifting drives and gardens across a whole estate. South East Water's hard supply (290 to 320 ppm CaCO3) adds the usual scaling load on the leak-detection side, where we trace furred and weeping joints rather than dramatic bursts. Proximity to Gatwick also means a steady stream of rental and HMO stock where landlords want a documented condition survey.

We run these as scheduled appointments – a 9am to 5pm window, usually one to two working days out – not as 24/7 emergencies. Drainage covers jetting, CCTV mapping and relining; leak detection uses thermal, acoustic and tracer-gas location with an insurer-ready report.
