The property picture

The district spans a striking range of stock. Chichester city centre sits within a conservation area where scheduled ancient monuments and listed facades sit alongside Georgian townhouses and Victorian terraces, all carrying original pipework of varying age. Out at Selsey the housing is predominantly post-war bungalow and chalet build. Midhurst and Petworth bring a different challenge again: Petworth Estate-managed properties and rural cottages, some of which are served by private water supplies rather than the mains Portsmouth Water network. Goodwood Estate-edge addresses in PO18 similarly combine heritage construction with rural drainage runs that have never been formally adopted. The South Downs National Park boundary cuts across GU28 and GU29, which constrains how drainage alterations can be routed externally.
